You must remember that there's hundreds of thousands of people that play Starcraft/Broodwar online every minute. The chances of us running into one of them is slim, and the chances of running into them and REMEMBERING them would be near impossible
If you want to see how 'good' they are, then try running a search on their stats... in any chat room type:
/stats *name*
for example:
/stats Protoss General
would bring up something similar to this (numbers may be different):
120-56-9
Three numbers. First number is how many games he's won (on that username), second is how many he's lost, third is how many games he's disconnected from (some people have excessively high disconnects, which means they disconnect when they're 'losing' so they won't get a 'loss'... they get a disconnect instead... i used to do this occasionally, but then i realized how gay it was, so i changed usernames and haven't done it since
)
Stats don't always mean that the player's good, i've met people with
10-569-38
records that are awesome, but they want to have a bad record so people misjudge them
