Devil and Deep Blue campaign recruitment: FREDders needed
DatDB is making significant progress. Considering the expected volume of missions that are going to be in the campaign, I've decided that we might need additional FREDders on the staff.

DatDB is going to be hosted on HLP soon and once we get our forum up, campaign coordination will increase a dozen-fold.

Overall storyline for DatDB is complete, and specific mission scripting continues. I need at least 2 to 4 additional people willing to make and test missions. If you want to find out more about DatDB, just click on the link in my siggy. If you are interested in joining the staff as a FREDder, just reply here and you can also PM me your e-mail addy. If you have additional talents useful for an FS2 campaign, feel free to mention it (but if you're only good at FREDding, that's fine, you won't be prohibited from joining the staff).

Any takers? :)

EDIT: Here's some further info on the campaign. Our final deadline for the release of DatDB is approxiamtely September 2004 (yes, almost two years from now) and the expected total number of missions for the entire campaign is roughly 90 missions (yes, 90!), subject to minor change.

To that end, DatDB will be released in several episodes. Episode 1 will consist of about 30 missions or so and has a preliminary release date of...well, bugger me, it'll be done when it's done. Considering that I'm going to be studying for the bar exam all summer next year, I have no idea when Episode 1 will be done. Hopefully by that time, all 30 missions will be fully scripted by then and I can just delegate the testing to my FREDders. :D

right now i've got some stuff for Inferno and Third Twilight, and a site for shivan swarm.  when i'm done with that (1-2 weeks) then i'll help!

count me in

Every project I'mworking on now has slowed or stopped so I'm getting ansy. I can Fred alright (but still need to lean how to do ani's) so would like to get more experience if you could use me while I learn (maybe have another Fredder get the missions I do to proof it and clean it up till I learn ani's). I got 7 fully voiced Robotech mision under my belt if you want a sample of my style. (I'll send them ICQ or whatever, voice files are large)...

Cool, three prospectives (Stealth, Star Dragon and Knight Templar) already!

CP, yah, I know your status. :) Finish up with PI and join in the fun when you're ready. As far as I'm concerned, you're already part of the DatDB staff, you're just on hiatus until PI is done.

Stealth, Star Dragon and Knight Templar, y'all are welcome to join in. There's no immediate rush, so if I have to wait anywhere from a week to a month, that's no biggie. I could use the time anyway, because I still need to finish scripting all the missions. It only took me a day or so to script the first five missions (but not quite as completely as I would have liked). So I can use any lead time to finish scripting the remaining 25 missions.

I already have Analazon and AqueousShadow working on the first five missions (as far as that goes, anyway, because I only e-mailed them the scripts just a few hours ago). But I get the feeling that more FRED help is always a good thing.

Stealth, Star Dragon and Knight Templar, be sure to PM me your e-mail addys, just so we can all keep in touch as needed. I'm not sure how we're going to divide the FREDding labor, but we'll work that out as we go.

And Stealth, somehow I get the feeling that you're partly motivated to join the DatDB staff so you can get yet another avatar... ;)

I wrote you a fairly long reply, but here's the short version.

Fredded Mission 2 for Combat Federation (ShadowWolf)
Confidentiality assured. Any campaign info not cleared for release is kept in it's own folder under warps. (ie) Like CF.

So do Fredders get Avatar's too? Have to talk to SW then!!!

Hey Su, I see you still haven't gotten my avatar put on you yet...:sigh::D
Wash: This landing's gonna get pretty interesting.
Mal: Define "interesting".
Wash: *shrug* "Oh God, oh God, we're all gonna die"?
Mal: This is the captain. We have a little problem with our entry sequence, so we may experience some slight turbulence and then... explode.

Yup, 90 missions. An ambitious project, I know. I probably won't meet the two year deadline, but it's too early to tell at this point (go figure). :D

But this alone explains why I need more FREDders. :)

Corsair, about the avatar, you wouldn't believe how many people have given me prospective DatDB avatars. Add to the fact that they all look pretty good, but none of them looked perfectly like I wanted them to and add the fact that Shrike and the other HLP guys all have Real Life issues that take priority over me (alas, alas) and it's easy to see why I don't have my avatar yet. :sigh: :D

Star Draggy, sorry about the PM mailbox being full. (I didn't realize it could GET full! ) I just cleaned it out, but thanks for replying here anyway.

Phreak, any staffer of Woo's is a staffer of mine! Wait, that doesn't sound right, did I quote that correctly? :D
