Kinda gives that Fenris a bump mapped sorta look.  Not as good in that pic cos I don't have my setreg.exe set for 512.

Yea, I started playing with it when I was trying to do some concrete structures by using a plain grey and adding noise and using the polish stone, then I figured out that it would also kinda give stuff a bump map look to it.

Here is teh Fenris. Just part of it though. How do you like it? Maybe I shouldn't make it so crisp though. Kind of makes it look like a cartoon.


OT - I hope we have all at least gathered that I have WindowsXP. Windows, the Experience. Is what XP stands for. God!!! It IS and experience. Though mostly not a good one.

You know, there are official hi-res Fenris maps avaliable. Do a search for ULTRA Hi-res maps, or just go back a few pages on the GenFS forum.

But it definately ain't a fenris. It's got two engines, and god knows what at the place where it should the missile launcher.

Anyway, good work, get the hi-res maps, see what you come up with.

That's Hamano's Fenris Phase 2 update. The guy does excellent work. I think the skin is by Woomeister (i think that's what was said in another thread about that ship).

No it doesn't - it makes it look HUGE! Dude, those textures give a superb sense of scale to the thing, especially the lil' windows

That ship is either the GTFg Atropis, or the GTFg Soveriegn. We haven't decided yet.

You mean, the GTFg Sovereign. The "i before e, except after c" grammar rule doesn't always work. All the same, it's a nice looking ship.

Maybe so, but they were working under deadlines. We've got all the time in the world to improve on what they did.
