yea im starting to think it was a promo release. but it was clearly new dimmu. dimmu promo versions are usually just shortened versions of the songs. maybe i just want in a dimmu mood when i listened to it. im starting to perfer the kvlt sound over the melodic stuff.
i really dont know anything about slavia cept for the songs on myspace. i only heard of them through the band disiplin, who had a link to them on their old website. ive yet to find any other material from them. you probibly should check out disiplin though, theyre very similar in sound.
as for slavias nsbm status, they dont sound nsbm, though ive only heard a few of there songs. disiplin got tagged nsbm by the skinheads for mentioning nazis on an early dimmu. but they got tired of the bad plublicity and made the statement that they hate everyone equally. graveland did a song called white hands power, its the only one of their songs that sounds remotly racist and its enough to get them labeled nsbm.
Theres some hitler quote at the beginning of pissdrained castles, a song called "not even human ****ing beings" and the backround is pure white with that plus symbol thingie which is sometimes used as an aryan pride symbol, and the font is very saxon-ish. Still, its a tough call since their lyrics havent been released yet.
I hate it when bands get tagged NSBM simply by simply being obsessed with WWII and stuff. An example would be Marduk, always mentioning it but never actually supporting it. (theyve also been quoted as saying they "hate everyone equally"). Same with Slayer and "Angel of Death" from Reign and "Jihad" from their newest album.
Can you believe someone actually tagged Dimmu Borgir NSBM simply cuz of the hardly audible hitler sample in "Puritania"? Isnt it a bit obvious that the whole song is showing the fascist movement in a very negative light?

of what people recognize as a nazi sign or racist symbol,

of those are pagan symbols that mean something completely different.the symbol on the cover of slavia ep, Styrke og Visjon, is a sunwheel (burzuum has used it from time to time as well), same as a swastica but ir has 12 prongs rather than 4.

there are many versions of this symbol as there are flavors of paganism, all of wich represents, go figure, the sun. white supremisict groups use theese symbols cause they associate them with their lineage. they like to trace their roots (often innaccurately) to their pagan ancestry, in order to proove that theyre "pure"..
