I mean those guys are really, really doing some magnificent things. Is it still on?, is it abandoned?, what is going on in there?

The reason I am asking is simple:

I just saw those screenshots

A bunch of models are from one of Aldo's camps, and they gotta wait until Aldo releases his campaign.

Most of the ships you see there CAN be picked up off various sites.

At least that's how it was when I was on there.

Of course there's stuff about a million times more cool than that, but I'm not supposed to tell it. Let Shadowwolf do it.

The Combat Federation is alive and kicking. Right now we are working on a few models that we need for the demo to be released. Once they are done, we will be fredding it, i have already done custom icons for the weapons, and am working hard on the soundtrack. I hope you guys like heavy metal.

Also, if you go the downloads section of that site, you can get the trailer.

Hmmm... different. They avoided the Hosting bug (as soon as a project gets hosted, all progress stops... weird huh?) and they renamed all the models. Something to look forward to, I think.

But next time, don't use the default FS2 sound effects for the cutscenes.

Can't say much for your taste in Aldo's models (or were those the only ones he had done when the camp started?), but some of the ships are sweet.

I have actually scrounged just about every model i could get my hands on and am still coming up short. trying to learn modelling, but it's a process, especially with the monkee screwin a football interface of truespace.

But slowly it comes together, and we will be getting hosted in the future. Right now though, the new site is under works, we also have our own forum away from HLP and VWBB, it's internal for the staff to use, just got it up and running, not even all of the staff has signed into it yet.

Aye, well bear in mind i haven't actually released that much since I started using max... only the Pirahna, Njord and the Pirate mods IIRC.

I like Aldo's Models, then again i am hard pressed to find a model i don't like. I needed to outfit 4 fleets, time is 400 years in the future, 2764. I needed models, and lots of em to do this. I f i could get my hands on some models of support ships, ie, science vessels, freighters, new support, that would really rock. As it is, i am using anything i can get my hands on. Vasudan ships are in relatively short supply......gee, who saw that coming?

Still work progresses.

hey, just thought i'd say hi as the site designer. btw GT-Keravnos the site you are looking at is the old site!!!! just wait till the new one is release!!! Also i have flown around in a few of the ships and they r sweet! although one gun set up on one of the ships almost gave me a fit!

I was wondering. Now that Casualties of War is released, maybe you could inquire Aldo as to whether he could be so kind as to release models. (Hit him with a stick till he makes more)

Also, there is the minimod database that has A LOT new models. Some mods are also going down the drain. A shame, but models could be used to help others, much like your own.

If I do get to fred more, maybe I can help out. I am not promising, since I have a long time to go, and not enough free time. Even if I did, I made commitments to both Lady Rose for EA Janus, and OTT.

I am sure once things start happening, people will join in, and hopefully I can contribute more.

Download the campaign. Extract the models & ships.tbl. Done.

Would you mind If I tried my hand making some missions with your campaigns tbls. and stuff.

(I just want to test things, and will ONLY be for my own PC). I wouldn't want others to see them. If I think that they are good enough (at some point in time), send them over I will...

What I was talking about (and perhaps I wasn't understood, last time) is that if you have some time to spare, maybe you could create some more models for Combat Federation. Some additional models, mind you.

I wish I could help, but so far I can only FRED, and I am not really good at that, either.

Just making some "wiseguy" suggestions, that's all.

Why not just mess around with the existing freespace campaign missions if you are looking for a way to practice and play around, especially if you don't want to donate work or anything. Granted you don't know how to FRED yet, but if you are just looking for missions to play with, using an existing campaign or the main campaign is a wiser and better choice.

Because of all the new SEXPs that come with Fred 3.5+ I mean the distance_from_subsystem SEXP is a sight for sore eyes. (and there are so many more) I really do have a lot of things on my mind to do with this one.

Well, I Want to donate my work, I just want it to be good enough first. I mean look at Casualties of War. Aldo has done an EXCELLENT JOB, and to release anything I should be able to make missions as_good_as_CoW (now that's a nice SEXP!)
