Weve seen 4 class of earth capital ship, 2 types of SCVN and 2 destroyer types (all pop up in the last 3 episodes).

OK, time for DG to settle the argument:

We've had the SCVN Saratoga, the SCVN Eisenhower which was a carrier with two massive railguns (though fat lot of good they did), a destroyer, and a guided missile patrol boat, probably equivalent to a modern missile frigate.

I always got the impression that the eisenhower was a planetary assault carrier a. it had less fighter/anti cap weps and more anti planetary weps. b. it was "Moving into position" probably with an arse load more troops and supplies...... like it was moving in close to disgorge supply stuff that the other carriers couldnt carry or launch.

I remember that the 58th and a bunch of other marines were stranded on a contested planet in Sugar Dirt for three months or so, but I sure as hell don't remember the Eisenhower getting kakked!

Was that in the beginning of the episode?

Frankly, you should watch it again and find out :D

To be honest, I don't want to give away the suprise but... well, the Eisenhower picked up a single Chig fighter, while they were buggering about in orbit during the attack. They launched Hammerheads to chase it, which followed it round the back of a moon... and disappeared. The Eisenhower went to see what had happened to them and next we know the Eisenhower was lighting up the sky as bits of it fell to the planet :shaking:
