I already did it.

Open up the texture provided and notice it is a little different. Take the grey gun slots from the top, right-hand corner and paste them into the same spot on the D.H. texture.

I don't know why, but HW fighters converted with FS skins and size ratios have always looked like piloted missiles to me.  They are so spindly and have so little detail that they can be hard to make fit well.  It's a good conversion, but next to a herc or even a persius it just looks, well, simple, LOD1 or LOD2 like.  If you have an interum mesh, you might try things like beefing up the wings, adding missile pods of some kind, and rounding out the cockpit.  It's bound to have at least a few polys to spare.

I really like the Canis D.H.  (See if one of you can make a Tigris D.H.)

Keep in mind that (I forgot to tell you guys) the Canis can only carry ballistic primaries (fighter flak, vulcan, etc.)

StratComm. Homeworld vessels were designed to be resourceful to the average player of the time (2000-2001?) as computers can't handle advanced graphics yet.  Now with all the GeForce4 and whatnots, Homeworld 2 seem to be more promising with better graphics.  I'll see after Homeworld 2 comes out if I can bring one of those models to Freespace 2.

Why wait? You'll only get behind. I've already seen a thread last week where someone was already converting ships from Homeworld 2 :)

I believe that he making one from scratch via a screenshot.

NOTE:  [German Accent] If you see any texture glitches, you're CRAZY. (If you see anything moving, that's just FRESHNESS!  ARRH!)

If you want to see a Homeworld model that is really high-detailed, then take a look at the Taiidan Heavy Interceptor (Trikkor).  It's probably the most detailed fighter in the game.
