oooh this is really cool.  Do you care what we put up?((I enjoy making websites but there usually really badly designed and somewhat pointless...)

I'll agree with you on PHP(that works fine for me...) but CGI definately does not(check the link vyper posted if u want, maybe you have cgi disabled under the peon accounts)... I switched over to nPHP for a news script... not as good as newspro imo but still good.

The indexing could use a index.php setting as a main page though, as it is I have to have an index.html redirect the browser to index.php on my site... works that way but still...

I'm not complaining, I'm very grateful for this, just stating some improvements that could be made :)

you can put up whatever you want.  images, webpages, anything.


vyper:  i'll check into your problem... we're also trying to use yabb (i'm not the one working with it though)

but i'm not sure (i know nothing about CGI) but i think you have to have a HTML file (template.html) call the CGI file.  that doesn't make sense though, because like you say, linking to the CGI file should work.  i'll definatly lookinto it

FTP will go up and down sporadically... occasoinally it's taken down when one of us has to do something to it or something

the only other forum i installed was PHPbb and that was by using a wizard :o

that's the problem right there...

while in your ftp app, right click the file you are going to chmod after you've uploaded them.
should be an option to chmod them there. then you put in those numbers in a text box or something there.

I think its a path to a file on the server that the message board needs to use, don't know what the path is though.  You put the path in the ini file for the boards i think.   Stealth, do you know what(or where) a perl path is? :)
