It's called prioritizing. There was absolutely nothing he could have accomplished by getting up and leaving suddenly and with no apparent reason. And after the first plane crash nobody knew whether it was an accident or not.

Besides, wasn't he down in Florida at the time visiting with his brother Jeb Bush, the governor?

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

Do you think anyone likes a nation that is threatening the whole world with it's weapons of mass destruction (nuclear, chemical, biological weapons)? Oh and they say NK and Iraq are threats.

Of course. Every country that opposes America's fascism is a terrorist country. Now lets see, France and germany opposed America, it's just a matter of time before Bush (or who ever takes his place) accuses F&G for their crimes or what so ever. Yep the Western alliance is totally falling appart, :) but meh :p ...as they say all "good" things must come to an end. :D
And you will give americans over to the international court. Let the world see their faces clearly when they are in the court and judged as every other citizen on this planet would. It is clear that they are war criminals and all war criminals should face the court. And don't worry. They can't blackmail you in any way. They wouldn't dare because they don't have good enough arguments. Even if they do, they would look stupid in the eyes of other nations and of course, if they would attack you no-one would join them so therefore they would loose the fight. :D In this situation, you are holding the playing cards, not amers. ;)

OBL is a mad man. Even I agree with that, but since the GW, sadam didn't do anything to threaten amers.

well, actually, the antifrench dude, there, don't remember the name, the one responsible for foreign policies, he said that french would have to pay for this.
then they figured this might have been a very bad idea, and they stepped back (heh, right now, the dollar is down the drain, that would have been the greatest idea ever  ).
I don't care much about all that, but the whole reaction of the US about french position about the irak war was just... childish.

US foreign policy is it's greatest strength in the 'traditional' sense - merciless and uncompromising (or so it seems from my POV). But that of course breeds hatred in those punished by it (at one stage or another, almost everyone). If they hadn't taken a stance, I think they would have been viewed as weak by all others... it's a paradox, no human systems really work thoroughly well. :sigh:

Of course the hatred grows. And now americans wounder: Why does the whole world hate us? What have we done?
What did they think? That they can do to whosoever what ever they like and be loved? Hey, people are not sheep. But, it's just a matter of time before things go downhill for the US :D And I don't really care if Bush or Clinton get away with their crimes and and don't go on court. They will be punnished sooner or later and it would be a much much greater punishment than the punishment of any world court.
Just a week ago, I heard some dumb ass saying that America is a religios country and that Bushes texts are "religios".    ( I laughed so hard I fell out of my chair and still kept laughing. Funny, I don't think I was hurt. ) Oh yeah, Irony and cynicism at it's best. Now I am asking my self. If they are religious, why do amers kill millions and probably billions around the world when one of God commands: One MUST not kill.

That's a mindset that prevails in the Arab world, something that the West is only beginning to realize recently - at least, the governments are only beginning to realize it recently.

Yeah... I really don't know why I didn't see it earlier. I personally think that Australia'll be bitten back by US foreign policy soon enough - which makes me genuinely sad, but it makes me more angry than sad. :hopping: Humanity's been constantly failing for thousands of years... I guess that's one of the reasons I'm a Christian, somehow I know the answer has to lie beyond ourselves.

Well, that's my take on the state of mankind, anyway. :)

It's the end of a long week. I've been sick, and still have a cough. My brain is virtually dead. Mind drawing the parallel in obvious terms for me? :D

No, most americans wonder why people always hate them when they have no control over what's going on in Washington.

The 'barbarian' Visigoths eventually destroyed the Roman Empire. Do the analogy.

Anyway, I'd just like to remind certain people that DaveB doesn't post at HLP anymore because of the anti-US *****ing. The 'we love your game, but our culture requires us to hate you' attitude must have gotten to him. Please just bear that in mind when bashing the States.
