Yeah, spoilsport.

Why there always gotta be someone wants to be the friggin' peacemaker and ruin everyone else's fun?

Anyway, Stealth buggered off, so I guess it's a moot point.

Er... Knight: Are you aware that your mother is a loose, immoral woman? Also unattractive!

um...what exactly is illegal about an ISO creation program? If he wants to use it for warez then that is his business, but he didn't bring up anything about warez here, so I don't see what the trouble is. You might as well say that threads regarding advice on buying new computers are not allowed because they could potentially be used for warez. :p

Maybe to get into the fight themselves, and as this thread shows, it works. :D

The problem is that he wanted to be a whiny ***** instead of get an answer.

no, you tried to give me an answer... too bad you didn't even know what an ISO was, so your suggestion didn't really help much.

and don't say you did, because if you did know what it was you wouldn't have said "Copy/paste works good"

Wouldn't that be plural? And I would never say "works good"- I have a basic comprehension of English.

Anyway, answer above.

I think Stryke hit the nail on the head.  Stealth has been warned about warez before, including a week-long banning, and him asking about a tool that's most commonly associated with warez - far more so than with CD backups - is suspicious to say the least.  His immediate reply of 'well you'll accuse me of using it for warez' and so on in various rants doesn't help his case either.  If he was really concerned about just backing up CDs, he could definately have asked in a different way and been much less confrontational about it.

It's too bad you didn't learn the first time around Stealth.  I'd hoped that you'd have taught yourself a bit more discretion.

*ahem*

ISOs are another handy way of creating the single backup copy one is legally entitled to make of a CD. I use Blindread and Blindwrite to (respectively) make and burn ISO files. Hurrah for me.

[EDIT] Sorry, was I supposed to have flamed Stealth during that post?

hah.  it's hilarious.  ISOs are used throughout the world for hundreds of applications.  sure, perhaps they're used for warez too, but then again, so are computers!

NO one better mention computers in this forum, since they are greatly involved in the world of warez

you're such an asshole.  i ask a simple question, you accuse me of using it for warez (even if i was, it's none of your business) and when i reply and say i can't tell you what i'm using it for because it might have something to do with warez, then you flame me.  god, it's like a joke.

OK Shrike, you're so good.
Tell me, how would you have asked for an ISO creation program?

"What's a good way of making a CD backup, I'm going to be backing up blah blah. Anyone have a good program."  etc etc.

On the other hand, I wouldn't even ask on a public forum.  That's just asking for trouble.

And again, you already got your warning for dealing with warez, then started asking about a program for copying CDs.  Of course I'm going to be suspicious, and you flipped out the instant you were asked what it was going to be used for.  You're not exactly building up a lot of sympathy here.

Dude, asking about ISOs after you've been warned about warez is suspicious, ok?  And you will note I said nothing about warez.  You were the first to mention it by name.  You could have simply said you were going to back up a couple CDs, but no, you had to fly off the hook.

so why even question me?

even if you KNEW i was going to use it for warez, why not just close your mouth, and let things happen, since I didn't mention warez, and according to vyper, diamondgeezer, CP, etc. it's a LEGIT QUESTION

!?

Thunder asks about his computer
Tiara talks about sex
People talk about movies
Darkage talks about desktops
Sandwich talks about suicide bombers
Stealth talks about ISO burning programs

what the HELL is wrong with this?  what's the DEFINITION of a public forum!?

Because this is MY forum and I can ask whatever I damn well please, understood?  You flew off the hook when you could have just as easily replied quite reasonably and explained what it was for.  Your ranting and raving isn't going to change a thing.  You practically incriminated yourself replying to my question, and continued to do so later.

Legal, but can be easily and are very commonly used for illegal purposes.

Public forums still have rules, furthermore, they have eyes.  If you're going to ask about these kinds of things, have some bloody discretion.

and that's why i don't like it.  the only reason i hang around is because of the projects i'm involved in and most of the community is nice.  you?  i don't like.  you think you're too cool.  all the other admins are cool, but you like to throw your authority around.
