Ah, a simple misunderstanding, dear sir. Possibly two different uses of the phrase. By "swing both ways", I was implying that the girl would be half straight, half otherwise. Not that the male would have two girlfriends, although that could be an eventual upshot of the whole affair.

ah i understand.  with all the replies coming in it was hard to comprehend.  yeah.  by "swing both ways" she'd have to be bisexual.  but i wasn't sure what you were saying at first :)

Charlotte:  what are you trying to prove?  that there's a difference between "swinging both ways" and Homophobic?
that's exactly what i said:

i'm just saying that there's a difference between not wanting to "swing both ways" and being Homophobic.

Je comprends maintenant, oui.
I shall update my usage of the term

EDIT: Damn you Stealth, that was one big edit. Now this post makes no sense :(

Check the dictionary...

Its listed :D

Its slang, but its there. Section 11d

Whoah. Swinging means everything... I knew most of the English language was redundant.

Odyssey:  sorry man... i edited it because i couldn't understand what Charlotte was getting at.

Charlotte:  you were agreeing with me when you posted the formal defintion.  you realize that right?

Charlotte:  no, it's not in the dictionary... "swinging" is, but "swinging both ways" is not.  also, you were agreeing with me.

Swinging both ways is a derivation of swinging. Hence its under slang. But I really don't care since as you said we agreed :p

Lets move on to the next utterly useless topic :p

Well, it is really, just the 'both ways' bit backs it up. Dictionaries rarely contain long-ish phrases.

Kinda like what we do with new young'uns at my school - just babble german and french at them that they won't pick up until the next three years of lessons.

Well technically, you couldn't do that on this forum cause I would probably understand you. :drevil: but you wouldn't understand me in my mother tongue. :drevil:

Oh man, can you guys just, you know, not rant and insult for like 1 day.  Every topic seems need a certain poster,  who everyone gangs up on. Why is this?

Can't you people just chill. Its totally up to the individual to have a preference for straight/gay/bi people. That said, I do think lesbians are hot, very much so, but then again, you can't ever get any further than watching, if they're not bi.

I personally don't like Madonna. She's an attention whore and would do anything just so that she can be the talk of the town and be seen as sexually desireable. Boo to that, boo to that indeed.

I just hope anon's ban doesn't run out before this thread goes off the first page, or Styxx is gonna be applying liberal amounts of whoop-ass all over the place.

Nobody is ganging up on anybody. We were just trying to understand him.

This must be the first reasonably sensible post here in this thread :D I totally agree with the above statement.
