Eh, if you remove the 'sandwich' part you'd be correct.  Leastwise, I've never seen 'fish and chips' serve the fish as anything but fillets, sans any form of bread.  Maybe the US is weirder than we give you credit for.

Rainbow drops are cool, u can see how many you can fit in your mouth- though rather poor as a weapon to throw at people.
Never been a big fan of chips and cheese.
Gravy and chips though...

or curry and chips...

Chips and mayo, my friends. I wouldn't have credited it two years ago, but when I mutated in to student I suddenly began compulsively putting mayo on everything.

You're missing out, mate! One of the finest chocolate-based snacks anywhere in the universe!
