A simple topic, I'm merely curious as to what (if any) drugs people have dabbled with.

Note to admins, if this is a sensitive subject (with regards to your kind hosts at gamespy) then feel free to delete the topic, also note that i'm not in anyway advocating the posession and ingestion of illegal substances.


I personally smoke pot (thenkyou) on a regular (i.e daily) basis, I drink a bit, not much though and I also take Magic mushrooms on a semi regular (little less than once a month) basis.

They are horribly bad, but the only thing that makes them worse than tobacco smoking is that they are illegal. If tobacco wasn't such a big industry, it would be illegal too (it's just as addictive as drugs, gets you high, but it makes millions).

I use drugs all the time, HIG. Specifically when I get sick. They help with the whole getting-better process.

I don't understand why people intentionally ingest mind altering substances (with the express purpose of "getting high"), though. I drink alcohol, but I drink it for the taste. I don't drink to get drunk.

That said, the hardest thing I've ever tried was a shot of absinthe in a little shot-bar in Ebina, in Japan.

Let's see:

• Alcohol (profusely)
• Cocaine
• Weed
• Ecstacy

All on a fairly infrequent basis. Usually just when someone offers. For the most part I don't drink, smoke or do drugs but if they're going for free I have no qualms about taking them.

I even once tried to over-dose on Paracemtomalomloals and cough-syrup for a bet. I got stopped though when they realised I was actually going to do it.

As for Drugs, well, I won't say I am squeaky clean by any stretch of the imagination, and if pot is going round at a party or anything, then yep, I'll take a few drags, I smoke anyway. I've done all sorts of things in my life, being quite experimental in my early years, including some class 'A' stuff, but I grew up and out of them all.
I won't say that they are good, they have killed people, but please don't judge people or put them into boxes marked 'Druggy', alcohol or tobacco, as has been mentioned, are both drugs, simply legal ones, and although people may drink alcohol for the taste, it doesn't stop you waking up wearing a traffic cone the next morning?

i myself don't even smoke and only drink one glass every 2 weeks (approx.), but i have no real problem with people who take drugs, but i don't want them to do it near me, but that goes for smoking too. hard drugs are bad, weed isn't all that terrible. i live in Holland BTW, so i doubt i am going to have to tell you local drug policy's.

I don't mind people not agreeing with drugs, and always used to not smoke without permission when I was round a friends house etc, it has to be a 2-way thing. I suppose what annoys me is people who assume other people on drugs must therefore mug grannies in order to feed their habit. They don't realise most people who do drugs, when they have no money, simply don't do drugs. Smokers are more likely to commit crimes to get a hit than, for example, ecstasy or even coke users are.
Most of Leonardo DaVinci's work was done under the influence of Absynth.
I lose count of how many conceptual artists in the 70's and 80's including the fathers of modern pop music, were heavily influenced by drugs.
I suppose as long as people remember that drugs are something you 'do' not something you 'need' there is a place for them in social environments.

Each to their own I guess. I drink to get drunk but I don't like being drunk all that much so I only drink once a week at the most. Trying to cut back on smoking pot to be fair, it's something of a habit, mostly started when I used it to help me sleep (I prefer it over sleeping tablets) as I'm a pretty bad insomniac at times.

Magic mushrooms are perfectly legal in the uk (loophole) so I've tried those a few times. Having the experience of that I would say that they have a somewhat bad reputation which is sad. I can honestly say I feel a better person for doing them because they've helped me solve personal problems and appreciate things I've taken for granted before. They've given me a lot of insight into feelings and thoughts that I'd normally try to ignore too.

It is, however, easy to see why they are illegal as the effects of a strong dose are quite simply overwhelming.

Don't really drink (or, get drunk at least) - only really at barbeques or sometimes at my brothers'.

Hate smoking, and i think you'd have to be an idiot to take any Class A,B,C substance - it's the equivalent of injecting drai-cleaner into your veins, cos odd are that you either have ****-all idea what you're taking or what it;s effects will be.

I smoke cigarettes, about a pack every 3 days.

I drink but mostly liquor on the weekends when I go clubbing.

I smoke the green daily.  Not too much during the week, but like mad on the weekends.

Besides that, I've done X and stamps.  Craziest was taking 4 X's at Ultra (techno music festival) in one night.  I will never do that again (but it felt oh so right when I did it).  I can just imagine how broiled my brain was that night.

I've a semi-mate who has parents so liberal that not only do they not mind him smoking weed in the house, they join in.

Everyone else seems to have disowned him as he's getting to far into the drug use, and seems to be intending to try every drug possible.

I hate smoking. Nevermind the whole cancer thing, my major problems are as follows:

1. It smells really bad.
2. The smell gets in your clothes and stays there.

I'm with Carl. And I've never woken up with a traffic cone on my head. Of course, I've never been so drunk that I couldn't walk home, take a shower and go to bed. And I've never had a hangover, either.
