Yeah, the nVidia SW IDE (it's not exactly and SATA driver, it's for the IDE controllers on nForce2 boards in general. The SATA driver is mainly for nForce3 boards and most nForce2 boards, even those fitted with SATA, shouldn't need it) driver is pretty dodgy, particularly with CD burners. It would have to be the single most complained about thing over at nForcersHQ. If you take burners out of the equation (I have mine on an off-board PCI controller) it isn't quite so bad, I've been using it for a while with no apparent problem.
