I can prolly leave my system on during the day and host a server, but the connection might be crappy, and if it crashes, I wont be here to switch it back on either :/

(not to mention the power bill is going to hit the roof)

Having 3-4 dedicated 24/7 servers with remote desktop control solves the problem.

We, the HLP community, should try to get something like that going.

i am taking my standalone off line, untill there is more testing going on. i have never saw anyone play on it, so it seems useless to leave my comp  on so long. the thing makes a lot of noise, so she's going off line for now.

we were playing an escort mission, i died early, lost all my respawns trying to cover a corvette, Singh tells me to jump, i hit alt+j in observer mode, and get a errorless CTD.

i am planning to have a LAN Party on 4/9.
i would like to play fsscp on a LAN...
but the latest release supporting LAN is 3.5.5 i think...
will there be a release of a current version supporting LAN in time ?
 
anyway, it is great work you are all doing..

As far as I know with the exception of the Inferno Build all versions of FS2_open support LAN play. What they didn't support until very recently was playing over the internet PXO style.

Anyway if someone confirms what I'm saying as correct follow the link in my sig to find a more recent version and advice on how to install it.

All builds after 3.5.5 crashed when trying to host any multiplayer game.

Obviously, it works again with the new multiplayer test builds.

So yes - Get the build from the first post of this thread and it will work on your LAN party. ;)
