That new design is a shocker. They really ought to stick with the original colour scheme, if nothing at all.

yeah, I'd have used something a lot closer to the origonal, maybe just removeing the writeing from between the stars, this thing just screams "hey, you've been concured and are being ocupied by people who have no idea who you are" hell putting that on fabric and flying it would probly convey this less, as I don't think most Iraqis can read english (though I could be quite wrong, I know there amung the more educated arabs)

I think putting a Crescent Moon (Which is not the symbol of Islam, since the Quoran forbids symbolism or even the making of human 'images' in it's strictest form, but is, in fact a pre-Islamic symbol originating from Turkey, representing the Sun-God Tanri) and a Yellow stripe underneath it will do nothing but anger people. Not very well thought out at all
