I thought of another one. Interstate 76.

That game was awesome.

I'd also go with Duke 3D. Now, THAT was a fun game, especially in Lan party :p

First post after some quiet reading, but that's indeed a serious matter you guys are discussing here ;)

Anyway, after a swift sweep over my game boxes : Gunship. Too bad there are so few Helicopter sims around these days, but that's true for too many kinds of games.

I refuse myself being that. :) I mainly thought of Duke 3D because it lacked in sufficent mouse support. It's like a lazy car: you cannot normally control it with a mouse.

:welcome:

Some words for you:
The exits are to your left and right. Flamethrowers are under your seats, but they are sometimes filled with water. If this occurs, please check the lockers for the old shotguns.
Stay away from the admin's weapon lockers and the air vents. If you see a large, insectoid-looking creature inhabiting the latter, throw him a large piece of meat (preferably not yourself), and he will leave you alone.
Thank you and have a nice day!

Just another thought that hit me under the shower this morning : Paradroid. A truly great game.

SERIOUSLY...! | {The Sandvich Bar} - Rhino-FS2 Tutorial | CapShip Turret Upgrade | The Complete FS2 Ship List | System Background Package

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

Quazatron was better in my opinion :) But yeah it was a fun game :)

Ranarama was the best of the action with little logic puzzles to get new equipment type games though :)

Ranarama rocked, I remember once I even bought a game-creator package (which are probably worse than programming raw code) to try and do something along similar lines on the PC. You gained runes by defeating warlocks and necromancers, and then used those runes to assemble more powerful spells :)
Never got off the ground, as I said, easier to type raw code ;)

Paradroid.  Wow, someone mentioned that title :).

Paradroid is a game for the Commodore 64.  A bunch of ships full of robots got infected with some virus, you have to go destroy/take over all the robots and save the ships blah blah.  The graphics are obviously dated, but it's buckets of fun.

Lemon64: Paradroid
"Why does it want me to say my name?"

Star Trek: The Next Generation: A Final Unity.
And the Armadas.
Those could use a good update.

I keep toying with the idea of writing a Java port :D The only thing stopping me is that you can already get a Java Spectrum emulator anyway :)

I'm glad to know I'm not the only fan of the game around. :) I copleted it on the spectrum and I have a snapshot of the time I completed twice in a row because I'd heard that if you did you got a screen where Mervyn is presented with two potion bottles and gets a chance to turn himself back to a human.  Sadly I was misinformed :(

While were on about 8-bit games. Target Renegade. Best beat-em-up. Ever.
