Star Control 2.
"The reason for this is that the original Fortran got so convoluted and extensive (10's of millions of lines of code) that no-one can actually figure out how it works, there's a massive project going on to decode the original Fortran and write a more modern system, but until then, the UK communication network is actually relying heavily on 35 year old Fortran that nobody understands." - Flipside

commander keen was made by id, so let it be the doom3 engine. at least, the dopefish would fit in then.

Ah, true. Man, I hated the Dopefish, it ate me so many times before I could finish that level. Keen 4 was one of the best, though. :D

I loved Commander Keen. Too bad I never could beat it.

Dungeon Keeper was indeed fantastic.

The rest, well, dunno.

It plays perfect as it is, IMHO. Of course it could look be better - but it's more than good enough, and graphics arent the only thing that make a good game. Ironic that it still looks better than those modern '1337 3D' RTS games.

Dune II however, cough,

See my point.

And the graphics are not even the main issue. The main thingy that dune II needs is gameplay improvements (namely: multi select units, waypoint systems, etc etc)

StarCrafts gameplay is so diverse, you can do almost EVERYTHING as it is.

It's 640x480.
That's good, it won't slow down when you have more than 100 units on screen.

The supply limit should be removed, though. I don't like it.

Huh? you can't win by any other way than techtree+early rush, just like any other RTS with base management.

Anyone listing any game under 5 years old is an utter graphics whore. For non-3D games, double that.
