I think any problems at the Av thread were raised more by people trying to create them, who were members at that forum.  Certainly, from what I remember when I was participating in that thread, most if not all of the HLP members posting were trying to be civil and offer an honest opinion.

I certainly was. I didnt even get to that thread from HLP either.
Says a lot about a community when they ban new members simply because they happen to post at another forum.

Likewise.  I've noticed that a lot of the more open-minded respondents on the Bluesnews, etc, threads have actually been looking at the community and the work that's been done.  This could, in a somewhat twisted way, be a boost to our work with FS2.

True but in my experience things like these tends to blow over sooner or later. Chances are, once tempers cool off regret repleaces anger on both sides - I'm sure there are lots of AV folks who also felt bad with this crazy flame war.

At least HLP got noticed and once they cool down they might want to drop by and see what's going on.
