Well...we have ways of making him talk... :drevil:

JD's desktop is pretty nice (A lot of my older desktops have been Greg Martin), but it makes me wonder how you get your icons to be in a grid-like shape without auto-arrange. Is there a snap-to-grid option somewhere?

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

Head Over Heels was a classic game from the days of the 8-bit computers (although there are versions for Windows, Linux and MacOS available from http://retrospec.sgn.net/index.php)

The game was a 3D isometic game where you had to leap over spikes and avoid monsters to try to get Head and Heels home. It's basically a puzzle/platform game with lots of zany humour (for instance you can't shoot the enemies but you can spray them with the donut gun which makes them sit still while licking the sugar off themselves)

The thing that set it apart from other games of its type was that Head and Heels has completely different atributes (Head could jump further and higher while Heels was faster) and although you could swap from one to the other at will you needed the abilities of both to win the game. Best of all if you could get the two together (They started out in seperate jail cells) you could combine the two by getting Head to jump on top of Heels and you'd get a super creature with the abilities of both. :D

Basically I spent hours playing the game. It's one of the best spectrum games I ever played and although I did once manage to make it Freedom it was only by using cheats that I ever managed to achieve the ultimate goal of toppling the Blacktooth Empire

It is. I wasted many an hour playing it. The site is dedicated to PC versions of old 8-bit classics so there is some good stuff there :D

Well, given this board's demographics, that's about right.  Girls, on the other hand, seem to have a thing for him, though I can't say why.
