"Moore, who directed the film Fahrenheit 9/11, has released an interview with Mr Goss in which he says he lacks the qualifications for the top spy post.

"I couldn't get a job with CIA today. I am not qualified," Mr Goss told Moore's production company in March.

The White House has dismissed the interview as "ridiculous hearsay"."

Question is, what did he say at his interview for the job?  :nervous:

He spoke, thus ruining his chances...
When you get an interview by intelligence, say NOTHING! ;)

The sad thing is, that if the Michelin Man over there didn't catch this, no one would have so much as raised an eyebrow. I mean, you can't get much more explicit in your denunciatons that actually, you know, denouncing yourself.

This just outlines the complete uselesness of the big media. They either thought it too much work to do any investigation beyond a quick Google search, though I doubt they even did that, or they knew and suppressed the information. Either way, a man was allowed to stroll into a position of incredible authority with a big red sign flashing over his head, and indeed one that he himself put there.

But it's government!

You never hire anyone who's actually qualified to do the job - then they might do well and show you up!

EDIT: to be fair, it's unclear if he was talking about working as a field operative, or in the beureacratic  position he'll actually hold.   Certainly, working as a field op (in some degree of seniority) would require more foreign language skills than working at the top level (where I'd imagine it's essnetially desk shuffling and reading analyses of intelligence).

Hell of a slip to make, though...... and he was a field op?
