Quite simply, so many people use mIRC because it's there and it works.

Miranda IM....better than Trillian in soooo many ways its not funny.  Best of all, it doesn't nag you to get a pro version. ;) (not to mention that Miranda IM actually supports more than 4 IM protocols and has ALOT more functionality)

yeah Trillian's great.  for when you get sick of AIM's advertisements and such, and want to use MSN, AIM, and ICQ all in one.

Trillian Pro is great

who uses trillian for IRC?  i don't know anyone that does.
