Well, for good measure, I also try to bash Putin quite a bit, though it doesn't come up as often as the US.

Erm, yeah, general dicussion is getting a bit politics heavy, but its not like there are actually all that many political threads, its just that, as has been mentioned, almost every topic devolves into how so-and-so sucks.

So, er, yeah. I dunno, try to cut it down a bit guys. This is still one of the only boards I've been to where poltical discussion is not expressely prohibited, which is great.

Actually UT I'd say that you start a fair number of the off topics yourself. Someone makes a comment about Bush and you say that they're bashing the US and then the topic goes downhill when everyone corrects you about the difference. If you'd simply kept it shut the comment would have been over looked.

So instead of lecturing us to stay on-topic I suggest you start with yourself first.

1) Learn the difference between bashing Bush and bashing America. They are absolutely not the same thing. In fact don't ever use the term again unless the person is question is saying something like "Americans are stupid"

2) Keep it shut when someone makes a comment unless the whole thread is going off topic. Lots of threads have off-topc comments. Pushing them to prominence makes them more likely to derail the thread not less.

But, bashing for it's own sake is also dull.

For me, forums are a place to unwind, relax, and sometimes just be a mindless spammer/arguer.  It's not a place where I would apply my intellect, because I'm sure you are all far better educated than me, but somewhere 'other' than real life, which is more routine than I care for.  

So, what I am trying to say really, is that ultimately, it is not important - when I quit Mozilla, you all cease to exist for me, and fade away like the bickering of ghosts.  Call me a tard if you like, but you don't me, and you never will...
