Looking for beta testers for 2d space trading game
Rimscape, the scifi trading and combat game wEvil, Venom, and I have been working on is still in beta testing and we want people like you to help kill the bugs and give balance suggestions. (i.e. what weapons/items are too powerful, etc.)

We need feedback so that we can get it as polished as possible before porting it to other platforms. (mainly PC with an OpenGL version with a more PC user-friendly GUI and cellphones)

The beta can be played at:

Yes, you do need to register an account in order to save your games and such. However there's no spam, mailing lists, etc. The logins are only there for score tracking and saving games on their server.

Here's a few screenshots:

Anyway, I've mentioned the game a few times here before and hopefully since there's some scifi trading game fans here we can gain a few folks with the time to do some serious bug killing.

Bringing this thread back from the dead as opposed to posting another one.

We've done another update, Mercenary Transponders are now in the game giving players a more combat-oriented solution. (4,000 credit base price for one)

The various crash bugs and save related bugs are now, very dead.

Right now we're focusing on balance testing (including a tweak done to missile guidance, we're wanting to tweak them and weapon damage further) and making sure all other bugs are dead while working on some more features.

New features will range from asthetic things such as thrusters appearing when the stop button is used to allowing for click and drag style scrollbars. Other tweaks are being done to the mission system in the game to allow for more flexibility. A few missions take too long to complete right now, and so are getting some special treatment.

Mostly we need feedback to make sure that the game isn't too easy, or too hard. Plus we need to ensure that all weapons and special items are useful for players in as many circumstances as possible.

We'd also like to hear your GUI complaints still, as they're being noted for the OpenGL version where we'll have a PC-friendly GUI as opposed to a keyboard only/small screen designed one intended for phones and PDAs.

Right now I'm looking into having some music done for the game too. Publisher hunting hasn't been going to great still because no one likes the idea of the developers keeping their intellectual property it seems :p
