Actually, you'd have to replace the turrets on the mesh manually, and then recompile the pof file.  There's already an Orion with better looking turrets on it, done by Raptor. But you'll have to search for it. :)

models give me a freakin headache. I only like making(not editing) them in blender. anything else in truespace, gmax, etc and i'm ready to punch a hole through my moniter and chuck the whole thing out the window.

only time i like to make models is when i get an insperation, but it isn't good anyway, i can't model to save my life.

Very true. I started off as a horrid modeler... now I can make decent vessels. Some day I'll make good vessels, then I'll be making great vessels. :)

It alse helps if you have the right tools. For example, Truespace is nice for conversions and all, but it's interface... well, to quote Shadowwolf "is like a monkey screwing a football". It's counterintuitive.

If you want, try to get a copy of 3dmax 4.2 or higher, and try out the tutorials that come with it for modelling a low poly space ship. They are really helpful. :)

I mostly model in Blender, than I stick it in TS to add more parts and stuff. I have a few Idea's, but mostly I'm just working on that Hi-Poly Moloch. I still can't think of what a good Shivan turret would look like.:blah:

It's quite easy to transition (box)  modelling techniques from Blender-Max, BTW.

Max does seam to be better then Ts, but I just have TS 3.2 so I don't know how it compares. Just finally downloaded Max the other day. Now, if I can learn the views, I'll be in good shape.
