I want a message sent after another one was sent. how do you do that? any help would be good:mad2:

I cant find send message list.... heres what it's like

well, for a has arrived delay to work, it has to be at least 1 second later...

Then in the change operator, look up 'send message list'... you should find it there somewhere... to get to it, right click 'do-nothing', go to replace operator, go to change, go to send-message-list ...

Go to help in FRED and have a look at the FRED help. Do the walkthrough there. It will help you so much you'd be surprised.

If you don't have any FRED help cause you've got the HotU version or something similar then download this and stick it in your freespace2\data\fredddocs folder.

What you're actually looking for is the send-message-list SEXP. Don't let my helping you on this question stop you from doing the walkthrough. Almost every good FREDder who started on FRED2 has done it, myself included.

i did the walkthrough on fs1.  long before i got fs2, so when i got fs2, i pretty much knew what fred was about.

I've alwasys found send-message-list to be really unreliable. I prefer chained/linked events.

I've never done any FRED walkthroughs...

I just opened it up and started FREDding.  I picked it up pretty quickly; I thought it was incredibly intuitive.  The only thing I had to look up was how to place ships (ctrl+click).

i think the reason no one likes goober is due to the fact that he takes life waaaaay to seriously. blaise russel ain't so bad. check out all the cool campaigns he made! S:AH, homesick, etc.

[EDIT] when i first discovered what FRED was, (i found it in the back of my dad's manual, the one i have is actually copied from the original) i copied the ships before i discovered ctrl+click. i was a total n00b at FREDing, now i'm a sort of 5% n00b at FREDing.

oh shut up. i haven't FREDed much anyway. i just make test missions for mods i make. that means basically ships and nothing else unless i feel creative and put a few twists and turns in the mission.

why don't you go to the fred academy and learn how to fred?  I am actually being serious.  You are a mod leader.  It is a very good thing to be able to speak the language of your fredders.  it is also a very good thing to know the difference between the limitations of your fredders and those of fred itself.  Right now your fredder is new, and i'm not slighting him at all, but he is new to fred.  He's doing a good job, learning , it would help if you knew what can and can't be done by fred.  And by him.  just my advice.
