It left at least its
elite pilots behind to help. According to the Subspace tech entry, fighter-jump-drives are prohibitively expensive --
not all GTVA fighters have drives, damnit!! -- which means the Aquitaine likely hauled most of its fighters back to Vega with it.
Say, I wonder what would happen if someone made a campaign where the player and his squadron (and maybe a couple small capital ships) have to carry out guerrilla attacks in a hostile-held system because their fighters have no jump drives and no one can extract them. Twould be interesting, especially if you had to team up with pirates or rebels that you were fighting earlier in the campaign. (I'm not talking ITDOH level, just... what if a small unit got cut off in Regulus, during Warzone, or something?)
Don't look at me, I've already got 2 projects going here.
