I was just reading on how Sir Richard Attenborough has cancelled a show of his Picasso collection due to his losses in the recent Tsunami, and I got thinking how profoundly these two brothers have affected our lives.

Sir Richard Attenborough reshaped the enture movie scene, and bought British made movies back into the limelight for a time.
Sir David Attenborough, his brother, with his series 'Life on Earth' helped shape my entire view of nature and evolution when I was young. More than this, most people don't realise than had it not been for this man and a hell of a lot of stubborness, TV would not have become colour when it did.

Like all victims of the Tsunami I feel for these guys and their loss :(

He lost his Sister-in-Law and his Grand-daughter. There must have been a third brother, since I don't recall David Attenborough ever marrying. :(

Unless she was the sister of his wife of course.

Very sad I agree though. Both of those two are great guys.
Karajorma's Freespace FAQ. It's almost like asking me yourself.
