I was on the VBB a few months before it went down in flames, then jumped on a life-raft over to HLP.

Sometime just before the VBB end (we didn't know they would shut it down at the time).

I got banned from the VBB and WS for fighting with the WS crew, then came to HLP to continue the *****fest.

Found it while the Vbb still existed, and spent a few months lurking as guest before finally registering.

November, 2002.
I found HLP via Gamespy. I went into the games section and clicked FreeSpace. It directed me to HLP.

I already announced my retirement twice, yet here I am. If I bring up that topic again, don't believe a word.

Came over from just a month or two before the VBB fell.
I remember back when HLP first started. I peeked in and thought "Wow, just another fan site. Don't think it'll last"

Thank God I was wrong :D

I think I found both SectorGame and HLP when I was looking through the B5 project, it's so long ago though, I'm not sure :D

I typed in letters at random in my browser, and somehow ended up here.

I sort of stumbled in here in late 2004 while looking for mods or campaigns that might still be online after all these years.

Needless to say, I got the shock of my life. I'm used to seeing mod projections abandoned one or two years after the game's release, with the exception of MekTek and Magic's Unoffical MechCommander 2 Expansion. So I blithely walk into HLP, take a look at the projects list...

"HOLY CRAP!"
"Load sabot. Target Zaku, direct front!"

Profile says March or 2002.  But I'll be buggered if I can remember how I got here, 'course I can't remember much beyond a couple of weeks ago most of the time anyway...

Can't remember exactly...

I downloaded the HotU version, found the FS: Oracle, then somehow found the SCP's webpage. Then a few months later waiting for another release I found that they had forums. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw how active the place was. So I decide to stay awhile.

Linked from the VBB. Didn't join up day 1, because it was a modding forum, and I was a FREDder, not a modder. Then, a few months into it I think I registered to post some smileys or something about... someone's Rhino or Brazil or something renders of the FS2 ships so that they looked like real, physical models. Then went back to thhe VBB for ages, gradually increasing my activity here.

Was looking for new ships to play with, found VWatch. I either followed a link from there or googled and found this place. Can't remember exactly. That was in 2002.
