Seriously, though, it's not too bad; far better than anything I could ever accomplish.  It could use some polishing, and maybe some better-res screenshots, but I'd say it's a solid start.

Anyway, it needs a lot of work still but your on the right track . It started quite well, the music choice was good but I thought it hanged on a bit too long with the CS title. The re-use of pictures in the 2nd part of the intro wasn't a good idea, and when the CS title comes on for a 2nd time I thought it might have been better to put some sort of count-down timer instead because of the background sound and then you could have a big explosion picture (sequence of 3-4 perhaps) or something like that and then show some other pics. The pictures lacked quality (should be set to a higher setting), and the preloader doesn't seem to display the progress of the intro.

seconded what xelion said. The re-use of pictures made me think that it was repeating the flash when it first 'came round

if you cut to silence while the flashing was going on, it would be more cinematic, the shaking for 20 seconds dosnt hold peopls intrest at all they will just want to skip ahead

Flash intros are so 90's. They add nothing to a site, and AT BEST don't annoy people into leaving.

What's the point? Would you like it if Google had a welcome page that you had to click through? Ebay? Amazon? Anything?

The welcome page is nothing more than a speedbump in front of the actual content.

Thats a sad comparision . The reason those pages don't have a splash/welcome page its because they don't need it!

Not necessarily, if its designed for a purpose and is styled well it can tell you exactly what you wanted to know before you even visited the website
