Hunters been knocking around in Eve for ages, he even has a SubForum dedicated to it at SG.

I'm about to install the trial, it looks quite good, but I'll wait and see how much 'sitting around arse scratching' is involved that can't be dealt with whilst I'm at work ;)

From my experience: a lot. At least for low levels, and those who choose to play solo.

It starts off very slow. The first week is the worst, but once you get going it gets incredibly fun. I'm two and a half months old. I'm hooked.

i like it. iv managed to figure out the basics of trading and the waypoint system and im steadily making money.

my character stats are a little funky like iv got
8 intleligence
11 charisma
12 perception
6 willpower
4 memory

which add together for some prety mismatch skills

For new people wanting to play EVE, charisma is the most worthless attribute so dont invest in it. If you want to be a combat person try to make a char with lots of perception and willpoweer, if you want to be a research guru, builder, miner, etc, go for intelligence and memory.

Warping will soon become tedious and boring. Been playing since July 2003... just wait till you try pvp. Its a drug addiction that can never be satisfied!

Ingame name is Aturayd, if anyone here is in Stain Empire you might have seen me or my guns.

Charisma is for Social skills, which is necessary for CEOs and mission runners (Connections=best skill ever for missions)

Sure but once you get the 5 social skills up, it basically becomes useless. New weapons and ships are always being introduced and there are so many more skills in those categories. Persoanlly, i would make a character with as high perception and willpower as possible and then just train up the learning and advanced learning in everything.

Theres still the CEO thing. Even more if you want to be part of an alliance.

well you need empire control 5 to form an alliance, but CEO skills arent required that much. To run a corp of about 50 members you need corp management 5 and ethnic relations 2 or 3... not very high skills to train and not worth wasting an attribute over.

Talking of which, SectorGame Corp has opened in Renyn IX at the Customs facility. We've only just started out, so it's Hunt Smacker and some hopeless N00b called Terakas (me), but from little Acorns.....

Dont hit the rocks until you can at least use Tech II miners, or fly a barge.
And for the love of whatever god(s) you believe in, dont ice mine. 7 minute cycles on the lasers, and they only get you one 1000m3 block of ice.

I hate POSes.

Anybody got the Gamespot trial working? When i entered the code and the mail in the EVE website to set the account, i got a weird message about some "planck bubble stabilizer" error. And my account could not be finalized. I don´t know wether it is the code Gamespot gave me that has no validity, or wether the EVE site is down...
Anybody got it working ok?
No Freespace 3 ?!? Oh, bugger...
