What's your favorite console system?
SNES - apart from a few noteable exceptions, from that point onwards it always seemed to be 'ooooh look at the pretty pictures!'. I played Super Mario for a long long time and was still finding new places to explore. Mario 64 was close, but just didn't have the appeal imo.

The only console I own is the Playstation.

I've used the PS2 and N64 too  They're all pretty good, but the original PS pad sucked. Dual Shock is the way to go.

My vote goes to the original Playstation. It might be slow, have sucky 3D graphics, and have minimal support for Dual Shock, but it's the console Silent Hill was originally produced for. Not only that, but Descent 1 and 2 were made for it. And just try saving your game in Descent 1 on a PS2 using a standard PS2 memory card...

snes. best controler of the day. was one of the first uses of 3d acceleration in some games (starfox for example). the conrols were also designed with 3d in mind. also was the first system that allowed you to save your game. not to mention all the games kicked ass.

genisis had its good points, at least if you liked fighting games. but it wasnt designed with 3d in mind. things like the sega chanel and the cd upgrade were cool, but they didnt take off as planned. nintendo didnt need any ghimicks to keep it alive.

of course both nintendo and sega failed to produce competitive next generation systems. sony crushed sega and forced nintendo into the realm of kiddie games. with monsters like microsoft on the sceene now the golden days of console games are over.

It's hard to decide. Dreamcast and X-Box had far too many few games that I actually wanted to play, though I still have my DC and couple of games for it. Just for design, Dreamcast is one sexy beast, and definately wins in the design department.

I'd REALLY consider voting SNES, not that I've ever had it (my friend actually has it, so I have played it), but they've made so many good games for it (like FF6).

Then again, I've had PS/PS2 for ten years now, so I guess I'm kinda biased, many fond memories of that machine. They've also made a couple of magnificent games to it (Resident Evil, FF Tactics and FF IX, Driver, Wipeout and Die Hard Trilogy for example), so I guess I'll vote PS1.

Funnily for the PS2 I've only found one game I truly love, that being Ring of Red (that game rocks :D, anybody ever played it?).

I don't see SNES on the poll so I put a vote in for PS2. All the good RPGs are on the playstations nowadays.

However, it looks like the xbox 360 may actually have some RPGs. Hironobu Sakaguchi's new company, Mistwalker, is developing Blue Dragon, which is an RPG for the xbox 360. Further, Akira Toriyama (DBZ guy) is doing character design. :D

Gamecube all the way!

-Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles
-Tales of Symphonia
-Baten Kaitos
-Custom Robo
-Super Smash Bros. Melee
And of couse...
-Super Monkey Ball

The only reason I wanted to get an Xbox was for Star Wars Battlefront, but I've got that for my PC.

What's your favorite console system?
I'd have to go with PS2, since that's the only next-gen system I own at the moment; I'm a big fan of the Ratchet and Clank series in particular.  I do have a fondness for Gamecube, particularly for Smash Bros. Melee, which has made many a college evening much more entertaining.  My PS1 served me well over the years; Twisted Metal 2 is, in my opinion, one of the ten best games ever made. :D While I didn't own many Genesis games, Sonic the Hedgehog was the first real video game that I can remember playing, and I'll always have a soft spot for that blue hedgehog.  I absolutely love Donkey Kong Country 1 and 2, as well as Super Mario Kart, for the SNES.  The NES rocked simply because of Super Mario Bros. 1 and 3 alone, plus the Legend of Zelda (which did have the ability to save games; SNES didn't start that).  I only recently picked up an N64, and the only game I have for it is Ocarina of Time, but that's more than enough to give it a good vote. :D Hell, I could have voted for just about any of them; the only one I never played was the Dreamcast, and I have absolutely no interest in the X-Box.

PS2, cause it's the only console with games I like on it. Well the Xbox has the new Silent Hill games too but I get them for PC anyway. I'd also mention that PS2 plays SH1 but I'm not going to (even though I just did) because I don't really like that game very much, at least compared to the others anyway. Also it has MGS. And FFX! Hour long cutscenes with the occasional boss fight in between, it's my dream come true!

To be fair the Gamecube has a few games I like on it like Resident Evil 4 and Eternal Darkness, but that's really about all.

Hmm, to be honest I can't stand the PS2 controller for those kinds of games (the ones where you can't shoot without manually aiming) because it requires your aiming to be good and the control stick is so imprecise. Much easier with the GC controller. I can't count the number of times I've been killed in Cold Fear because I overshot a zombie's head by a millimetre.

Out of all the controllers, the xbox one is the best for shooters. Precision thumb sticks and pressure sensitive triggers.
