Yeah, let's be honest it's not cost effective to pump out machines like that - those kind of wafers don't come cheap, nor does the production method for the final chip.

Doesn't look like German to me. Perhaps Swedish, or Hungarian? Although they are similar...

impressive, will it work with my saitek x52? :D

i suspect this thing will be in the $600 range. though it wouldnt suprise me if they tried to sell it for more than $1000. if there was a system that would make me want to go back to consoles, this would be it, assuming that is that theese specs are accurate.

features i want:
mod support
pc controller support
a free sdk (yea right)
I can no longer sit back and allow communist infiltration, communist indoctrination, communist subversion, and the international communist conspiracy to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids.

www.Xbox360.com is up...

It gives you a very good view of the console.

Pretty snazzy looking.

Shoot, this forum is empty right now...

Anyway, as I suspected, the console is water cooled.

AND another thing.

That video has some gameplay footage that appears to be Halo 2, which proves either backwards compatibility, Halo 2.5, or possibly Halo 3?

EDIT:

Editing this time...

Since the faceplate snaps off, it would be easy to paint it. Hah!

EDIT2:

Looks like some of the rumors were wrong.

Apparently EVERY Xbox 360 will come packed with a 20GB HD, but upgrades will be available for purchase if you want more.

EDIT3:

And since the hard drive is detachable, you could probably take it over to a friends to take advantage of saved games etc... rather than lugging the whole console over to play with.

EDIT4:

Okay, Halo 3 is pretty much a given based on the ending of Halo 2, but now it's guaranteed.

From J. Allard:

Quote
We've got the marketplace browser built into the guide," he tells us. "So check it, you pause Halo 3, you press the Xbox 360 button, boom, up comes the guide, you go and you say, oh, there's a [Perfect Dark Zero] download that just came on, great. You go pay to download the thing and you're downloading in the background, boom, you go back to Halo and you finish up your game. The thing's going in the background. Multi-core, system's always on, online, and connected.

Totalling 9ghz at maximum cpu performance, this beats almost all computers as of now.

By 2006, computers likely will have triple-core cpus with each core having at least 3.6ghz.  Two of those and its like buying a Powerbook, but you have 18ghz.  Wow, my 2400+ Athlon really sucks!

Combined with rumoured features like stereoscopic vision (big maybe on that), revolutionary touch sensitive / touchpad based wireless controllers, the ability to act as a wireless router for DS internet gaming as well as free Rev online gaming and maybe even voice controls..... it's an interesting sounding machine to say the least.  Only thing is whether the mid 2006 date is true; often it's not being the best but the first that counts.
personaly i believe little of what Nintendo says they will do, *cough* 64DD *cough*

I don't know about you, but I'm NOT paying 600$ (it's pretty much equal in euros, isn't it?) for a console, and certainly not 1000. That said I wonder how much Revolution is going to cost?

Frequency isn't all, as it all depends on the amount of work per cycle it can do. Anyone know where to get a "CPU Game Math Performance" comparison for CPU's?

Also, at what price is this expected to be sold? :wtf:
