I'm relieved I'm not theonly one for whom the links don't work. I've been trying to get the avi versions of the cutscenes forever but the links won't ever work. Someone should post new ones or something.

I've downloaded the Freespace2 images from the Freespacezone website and when I first opened those, they are in a .bin format and there's no .cue file for me to burn directly to the CD, so therefore I have to convert it into a .iso format using a program called UltraISO. My concern is whenever I try to convert that, I'm still prone for checksum errors even though I converted the .bin images into .iso images.

Has anyone tried this method before and experienced any problems? btw, I currently use Nero to burn all my data images.

When I've been in a similar situation I've simply copied a .cue from another data CD and edited to change the filename it points to. Never had a problem with doing that before. Maybe I just got lucky though

don't convert the bin files at all. i suggest using alcohol 120% (a virtual cd drive program) to open the file, its way better than daemon tools. no need for messing around with the original files

Why goesnt the liks posted work for me?? I wanted to get the game but I cant t can not find the server it ssaiys!
I had the original a while back on mi pc. but lost it to HDD format.

well that makes me feel better...well not actualy but at least i'm not lone wanderer anymore
Also I will see what I can do to get back mi precios ..mi sweet.sweet precious so shiny so wonderfull mi precious.....err what was I sayng oh yeah get back to reality and go get mi hands on a FS2 cd or cd's !

Also I still havent been able to find the FS1 cd's anywhere or the game for that fact full or otherwise!

I'm off now to hut down FS2 ! "And so the hunt begins"

you have the login set to anonymous right?
Is there a firewall blocking your access?  (mine's already configured)

If you still cant get them I can use a file uploading service and I can upload them for you that way.

ahh thanks for that Zman, i seem to be able to access it now. So once I get the cutscenes I unzip them to my FS2 folder (the HotU CD rip) and I basically have a full working Freespace 2 with the cutscenes? I think the music and speech has already been added to the HotU rip (?  cos I can hear it in the tutorial briefings....

yep, thats it!  just unzip them into Games/Freespace2  and your good.

The FS1 Cutscenes must be put into your port mod folder otherwise they conflict with the FS2 cutscenes...

cheers Zman. I reckon im just never meant to get the damn cutscenes or smthing cos now that im trying to log in the next day anonymously and with the firewall sorted out its gone back to saying operation timed out. Jesus.....lol
