Although I've honestly detested the man for years (basically since he registered "godhatesfags.com" and chose to host it at the webhosting company that employed me as an administrator), I never really knew what a complete and utter nutcase he was. He might just make Pat Robertson look sane, intelligent and--I shudder to think it--lovable.

His children deserve painful torture almost as much as he does.

Almost.

They already get painfully tortured by him, anyways.........

Yes, but not enough to excuse their actions, either:

I find the Wikipedia talk page for the article on Phelps amusing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Fred_Phelps
Science alone of all the subjects contains within itself the lesson of the danger of belief in the infallibility of the greatest teachers in the preceding generation . . .Learn from science that you must doubt the experts. As a matter of fact, I can also define science another way: Science is the belief in the ignorance of experts. - Richard Feynman

I've heard of Religious Whack-jobs before, but this is just insane.

God punishing troops because gays live here?

Gays are everywhere. Why isn't god smiting other foreign armies?

Hm....

Phelps also wrote a book in the 1980s with his son-in-law, Brent D. Roper, called "The Conspiracy." In the book, Roper and Phelps claim to possess evidence that: AIDS spontaneously generated in Africa; Truman Capote contracted the disease during an orgy with African tribesmen; Capote then gave the disease to John F. Kennedy and Robert Kennedy by playing football with them; that John F. Kennedy and Robert Kennedy had a menage a trois with Marilyn Monroe and gave her the disease; and that the CIA assassinated all three to prevent the spread of the disease.

What a f**king idiot.

Please, kara - that's an insult to idiots everywhere.

Now, it may be illegal to kill him - is it illegal to build a really big wall round his house and those of his parishoners?

And I'm sure his idea to bugger gays with a chainsawis his attmpt to make a world a better place (in his ****ed-up mind)..

As much as it is distasefull that twisted people like him and many others are actually alive and allowed to do things like this, beating the crap out of them isn't the long-term answer (alltough they would deserve it)

it is bad to live in a narrow mindset and see the world as horribly wrong

is it worse to have an informed, somewhat broader mindset and still see the world as horribly wrong?

ive got to go change the world or something

Yes, but you miss the obvious difference: I'm Right (tm).*

* That and I like to use exaggeration to humorous effect, whereas Phelps likes to use it to rancorous effect.

and he's supposedly coming to sweden, I've heard. I wonder why, though, he hates us. I 'hope' he doesn't get 'hurt'.

Apparently your royal family are all disease ridden. No idea why that's connected to him hating Sweden but that's what he's claiming.

I find it amusing he's been banned from Canada. I mean, seriously...they've threatened to arrest him should he attempt to enter the country. In Canada. When you can't go to Canada anymore you're really starting to run out of options...
