My faverioute quote of all time:

If you have Freespace 1 and a VP viewer, then look for files with '_rank_' in their name. The last three are funny. My faverioute is '_rank_g'

"We're not sure how you've done it but you are hereby promoted to the prestigeous rank of rear admrail...we think you cheated"

...or if you listen to the Bastion ones...

"We're not sure how you've done it but you are hereby promoted to the prestigeous rank of rear admrail...jerky"

You've got to hear them to fully aprechiate the comedy.
Also goes by 'Murasaki-Tatsu' outside of Hard-Light

cant forget this quote from FS1...

Escorting the shield prototypes, alpha 1 is greeted by the so-called friednly vasudans, telling them to take over the escort..

HOL Vasudan: "Your lack of trust is typical, Terran!"
Friendly Vasudan:  Beware, Terrans!  There are members of the Hammer Of Light in your midst!"

DIVE DIVE DIVE is also one of my favorites...  I remember the first time I heard that, I got destroyed by the Sathanas Jumping Out....  Quite funny, that mission lasted 3 secs
Well what do I do now?  Well Jack, you seem to have an act for blowing things up....

Dive Dive Dive is one of everyone's favourites. I've yet to meet anyone who doesn't count that as one of the high points in the game :D

The best three are in FS1, and they differ from the actors:

"We aren't sure how you've done it, but you are hereby promoted to the prestigious rank of Rear Admiral. We think you cheated."

The one above comes with an alteration with the female voice, where instead of saying "We think you cheated", she says "Jerky".

"You really must've cheated to get this rank. You want to sit behind a desk or something? This is what Vice Admirals do."

"You really have got to stop cheating. This could become a natural thing for you, and that would be bad. Go on Admiral Cheater, I think you have to perform some ceremony or inspection or something."

The .wav files are 1_rank_g and onwards and 3_rank_g and onwards in FS1 (one of the .vp's in data IIRC).

Um.. that wasn't the Bellasarius.  That was during "The Great Hunt II", and I think it was Command.  The 2 corvettes in that mission were the Lysander and the Actium.

It was the Lysander. Something like "Iblis now within range. All guns, fire for effect!"

Not that I'm that much of a nerd, or anything.

Sorry, yeah, meant the Lysander, was still thinking about the classic Bellesarius exchange at the beginning of the campaign when I typed that ;) And it was the Corvette commander who gave the order.

hmm...speaking of cutscenes

I hear my enemies speculate about my ambitions...my motives..."Who is Admiral Bosch, and what is that old Scoundrel upto now?"

-Bosch

In the Gamma Draconis system, the destroyers have arrived, and soon, the alliance shall learn the Method, behind my madness.

-Bosch

We vanquished the shivans in the great war, but the hard question remained; how would we handle the threat of future invasion. The Shivan could return at any time, any place without warning; how would we handle the threat against our very species?

-Narrater, colossus cutscene.

Of children, who saw in the embers of dying stars....the destiny of their race....

-Narrater, Fs2 intro cutscene.

5...4...3...now initiating remote detonation sequence. Stage 1....stage 2....stage 3. Remote detonation sequence complete.

-Terran Command, Bastion cutscene.

They hunted, they followed us. They followed us when we retreating, discovered where we lived. For a long time we never knew why they chased us - it was not for our territory, our technology, our resources....now we know, our pride was sin.

-Narrater, Ancient Cutscene 2.

Ours was a proud people...and always the strongest.

-Narrater, Ancient Cutscene 1.
(that opening line always got to me)

There is little left for us...little time...but much irony. We did discover they are not invulnerable, for the destroyers that darkened our skies like a plague can be harmed.

-Narrater, Ancient Cutscene 5.

I am told they will return again, but not in my lifetime. Such, is liberation.

-Alpha 1, Endpart cutscene, FS1

The pilot made this decision even after being advised of the impending catastrophe. Because of this sacrifice and the sacrifice of thousands of others we halted the Shivan advance. We sealed off Capella and our people are safe, maybe forever. No one can fathom how or why the Shivans destroyed the Capella star. We lost a place many of us called home. We lost entire squadrons, the Colossus and most of our fleet. We lost so many friends that we celebrate our victory with grief and mourning.

-Admiral Petrach, GTD Aquitaine, Endpart2 cutscene, Freespace 2.
"Blessed be the FREDder that knows his sexps."
"Cursed be the FREDder that trusts FRED2_Open."
Dreamed of much, accomplished little. :(

Not sure if anyone knows, but the guy who did Admiral Bosch's voice also played the main villain in Total Recall, if anyone's seen the movie.  I checked the credits.

Yes.  He (Ronnie Cox) also plays Kinsey in Stargate SG-1, and has a bunch of other credits.

Admiral Petrarch (Robert Loggia) was in Independence Day as a general.

Kurtwood Smith apparently (according to imdb) did the Colossus voiceover; he was also a baddy in Robocop (Boddiger).

The intro was done by Stephen Baldwin (imdb wrongly credits him as Snipes), who has a more famous brother.

It's either him or someone who sounds exactly like him.

He also played the Federation president in Star Trek VI.
