I use FRED3.5.5 to do my mission making, but the problem is, it has several very major bugs. Some of the important SEXPs (such as Distance) are permanently grayed out, nomatter what I do, and it has a CTD, no error, every time I try to add a briefing icon for an Arcadia, or move anything in the mission space while in the briefing view (this error does not happen with 3.4.4, which is what I had to use to make the mission briefing for the one I just finished).

Am I just using an outdated version of FRED? is there any help for me? Is the world coming to an end? Have you switched to Geico yet?

Is the waypoint displaying system good for you?

distance works fine for me as long as it's in one of the logical comparison or arithmetic sexps. Are you using the original 3.55 or the 3.55 OGL one? Stick with the old one, as the hardware accelerated versions seem to be riddled with problems at the moment.

The only problem I have with the OGL ones (in particular) are the 2D things - briefing icons, lines and waypoints - not being rendered correctly.
