Q: FRED/Reinforcements
Hi all, last FS I played was the original FS1 so I'm just getting back into FRED after finding SCP and FS2. After running through a fair bit of the default campaign I started sniffing around FRED and am now wondering if there is a way to make Reinforcements become available mid-mission. For example, if two of your starting wings reach 50% strength, is there a way to trigger the already designated Reinforcements to become available at that point but not before??
I think I played a mission in the FS2 default campaign where I was told reinforcements were now available (mid-mission), but I cant recall if they were actually available in the comm list before I got the message or not. Anyway, if anyone could give me some advice or point me in the right direction I would be very greatful. I'm using FRED2_open_r_08282005 with fs2_open_367_p4.exe. Thanks.

Same way you make other ships appear later. Set the arrival cue. If you do this for a reinforcement unit it will remain greyed out until the arrival cue becomes true. After that the player will be able to call the ship in (don't forget to remind the player that the reinforcements are now available)

So all you need to do is use the percentage-ships-destroyed SEXP in the arrival cue for your reinforcements and you're set.
