No, i'm pretty sure black metal devotees make liberals look way worse than hollywood types...
*insert stuff here*
That wooshing sound was the point going over your head.
It's not a commentary on you being liberal. (Though realistically speaking you are; let's face it, the task of the conservative is not to bring a return to the old ways but to preserve the old ways. You can't preserve what you claim to seek a return to, a claim that has problems in and of itself, because it's dead and has been that way for at least 1000 years.)
It's a commentary on the content of black metal. Specifically a lack of variety and/or range.
black metal has no more a lack of range than any other genre of music you can think of. that includes classical. to somone not familiar with classical two distinct pieces may sound similar. its a comon phenomenon. its not a matter of my metal is kvlt and yours is not, though some of the kiddies may say that. they may like a band and all the other bands that sound like that one. a more mature listener would notice more variety in the genre while a kiddie would denounce anything distinct as non-black metal. essentially there was a genre hijack that happend in the second generation of black metal. bands like venom and bathory (who some would define as of another genre) were replaced by darkthrone, mayhem, ect. fans of the second generation bands got really anal about what black metal is. its where the terms troo and kvlt were established. then the 3rd generation came about the genre really moved forward and became more complex. dont let the 2nd generation fans steer your views of the entire genre of black metal. consider it a dark ages of sorts.
then again you miss my point about the political nature of paganism. a return to such an existans is rendered impossible merely by the populations of people. an independant village is not possible as governments claim ownership of large amounts of otherwise uninhabited land. civilization forces cooperation between communities, and sometiomes depends on it. a return to a pagan village or a forest clan would be constantly interfered with by the civilised world. perhaps merely by contact or through taxation or imposition of outside laws. its just not possible to completely return to the pagan way. modern pagans dont do this but still attempt to perserve whats left of their ancient ideology/religion. this is conservatism. forms of neopaganism, like wicca, various new age beliefs, or even the church of satan, all stem from the hippie movment of the 60s and is therefore libral. its an important distinction to make.
