Yet another compiler+IDE
does anyone know if freespace would compile on Dev-Cpp ? http://www.bloodshed.net/devcpp.html

Yes, it's all written in standard C/C++.

Except FRED, which is written in an obscure and particularly evil dialect of the language of Mordor. With fiery letters and everything. Anyway, that compiler claims to be cpp compatible (well actually, it claims to use cpp period... the IDE of course is just the nice facade), so it should be fine. Might need some manual tweaking though as it's unlikely to just take MSVC projects and run with them, but if so that's likely just the front end messing up and not the compiler itself.

I must be looking at the wrong parts of FRED. So far I've not found it to be too bad.

Then again I've only really played with the dialogs and they're bound to be pretty straightforwards for the most part.

Well, the parts that are actually c/c++ I can understand. But the parts that are MFC, I can't. It may just be me, but I simply don't see the logic in it.
