You have 500 MB, and it says you're only using 125.

As someone said early in this thread, some of these files won't sound as good as you would expect, simply due to the quality of the instruments used in composing them. Others are in excellent quality, however.

Nix originally wanted to hold off releasing these until a music.tbl for FSPort was ready, but he was running into various problems with it and I have not heard from him for quite some time, so I think it makes sense to just release them as they are. If you get them working in the game, post your music.tbl here. I haven't had much time to look into it myself.

They all make a distinct difference to the original ones, even if some of them didn't sound as good as others. But aw man. M10 is missing. My favourite track...

It can, but you need to download the .flac codec.

FLAC is easy to play.  I think Media Player Classic can play them out of the box.

Hey guys.  My God, has it really been four months?  I guess that's what Real Life does to you...

So yeah, I see that CP5670 has put out the FS1 files, that's cool.  I never had the chance to make the mixdowns for the FS1 files ovbiously, nor update my own webpage.  I'm glad that these have been released.  I've just about given up on the music project myself.  I've had a real rough time just keeping a computer running, and finding time to sit down to use it.  I've purchased a brand new laptop though and I'm still getting everything set up on it.  Therefore, I have no audio software at the moment.  I'll get it eventually.

Also, I still have not heard from Dan Wentz on other material.  Basically, what CP5670 has posted, that's all we have.  That's all that Dan found and sent to me, at least.  I assume that all of his energy and time is devoted to the current Volition project (still don't know what it is...) and family, and rightfully so.  Yes, there's some tracks that are missing, notibly the M8 tracks. 

Also, I kept hitting brick walls each and every time I tried to get the music to work in the FSPort, the one problem I always got was that the track would only play halfway, then immediately start over again.  I had set my timings right in the tables, and I still got the same problems.  No matter what I did, it would always do that.   The other problem I had, was that if I did get the music to work right, it would only work for the first mission.  Second mission, and each mission after that would be silent.  I removed any/all other refrences to music.  So..... with this quite hasty post, I am hereby turning this over to the community to work on, if they'd like.  I really wanted to release the pack as a single pack, complete and working, but I, for the life of me, cannot make it work right.  The original intention was to play the FSPort with this music, that you have before you right now.  Hopefully, someone else can make it work.  I'm not giving up on it though,  I WILL be of as much assistance as anyone needs, now that I've got a computer at my side again.  I could be available for testing as well, just don't know if FSO will run on a Geforce 8600M GT card.  Should...

I guess that's why I excel in hardware/software deployement and management, not coding.  I couldn't code for crap in college....  hehehe...

I'm back, in somewhat diminished capacity.  If there's anything anyone needs, please let me know.
