So if you don't have any comfy chairs, it's not a home theater? And since comfy chairs are a matter of opinion, than I can honestly say that no chair/couch/futon is comfy. Yay!! Thesizzler saves the day!! :p

Seriously, I am moving to the UK. Or that one place that you can get 2mbps internet for a sandwich a month.

Go to a univ. and stay there forever, as a grad student, TA, teacher, then professor w/tenure.

as long as you dont show softcore porn in class and ask for donations to your church during a lecture, then youre good.

yes a teacher actually did that here.

I forgot that BBSpot is a satire site........

It's a joke guys.....
"The reason for this is that the original Fortran got so convoluted and extensive (10's of millions of lines of code) that no-one can actually figure out how it works, there's a massive project going on to decode the original Fortran and write a more modern system, but until then, the UK communication network is actually relying heavily on 35 year old Fortran that nobody understands." - Flipside

It's totally fake, another pretty good joke from the guys at BBSpot.  I remember an old joke from there where the guy wanted to overclock his outlets to get more power out of them.  (Cause power sources in the US are rated at 60hz)

It's my understanding that you may do one or the other in class but not both :p

Is it sad that a fair number of you are willing to believe it?

Not sure what that says about the state of the state...

This seems just waaaaay too far fetched...  This is probably an idiotic question, but are slashdot.com and BBspot.com legitimate news sites?  I'm having trouble believing this...

don't know what planet you live on but slashdot is one of the oldest tech news sites around, however this article was tagged "Satire"

Whew...So then this isn't real.  Although we had better hope that the MPAA doesn't read that.  They might get an idea...   :nervous:

This year, both Groundhog Day and the State of the Union Address occurred during the same week.  This is an ironic juxtaposition of events--one involves a meaningless ritual in which we look to a creature of little intelligence for prognostication, while the other involves a groundhog.
