Re: Oshi-- He's done it again!
I'll be uploading the high quality video to a webhost for download. It'll be up by 5:10 PM PST.

http://www.cssavarice.com/files/FSMusicVideoFinal.wmv

It's 52 MB, too, so 56kers beware.

Re: Oshi-- He's done it again!
I downloaded this but it was only 48.7 MB.  I played it, and it says the length is 3:57, but at 3:20, it just cuts out.  It seems that what you posted is missing the last 37 seconds.  Seven seconds of that is the end of the Bastion's self-destruct sequence, and the other 30 seconds is the credits.  BTW, I'm playing it in WinAmp.

Other than that, the hi-res version looks really, really good.

Tyrian & Tyrian gives it: :yes2:

Works for me now, too.  Looks like I just got a bad download.  Very awesome!

Cool, although I had to manually set the aspect ratio to 16:9... meh, a minor fault (if any).

Re: Oshi-- He's done it again!
why do you want a widescreen ratio? isn't the default ratio good enough? :P

Re: Oshi-- He's done it again!
Well, I prefer to watch videos (and TV, too) in their native aspect ratio. I don't like watching widescreen video compressed into 4:3 ratio (even though that option is better than having almost half of the image cropped away), and when I watch 4:3 broadcast on widescreen telly, I always switch it to normal aspect ratio of the show.

AS to "good enough", well, it's a matter of two mouse clicks to force the video to be shown with correct aspect ratio in VLC so it doesn't really bother me. It just felt odd, that's all.

Re: Oshi-- He's done it again!
Yeah, i was watching it in VLC and noticed the planet in the FS2 intro bit (with the Vasudan fighters flying towards it) was horribly stretched upward. Had to fool with VLC a bit =b

Re: Oshi-- He's done it again!
wow. 16:9 really DOES look better over 4:3. But I'm so used to watching this video in native 4:3 all of the humans I see look fat. :D

Re: Oshi-- He's done it again!
:wtf: Where are some of you getting 16:9 from? 16:9 doesn't do anything to that planet in VLC. The only thing that brings it even anything near round is 221:100. :ick: Maybe my VLC is weird?

In fact, after looking at some of the community AVIs and OGGs, I've determined that VLC doesn't support overriding this to Volition's cinematic aspect ratio, which is 2:1 ... as the dimensions of CommandBrief.avi is 640x320. This explains why 221:100 gives near-perfect results on your video, Cobra. All you have to do is rerelease your video with a doubled width and it'll be fine.

Re: Oshi-- He's done it again!
I used Windows Media Player to view the file and there were no distortion problems. IMO, the only reason to use VLC for .wmv files is if theyre corrupted.

As for the video itself... Simply amazing!  ;)

And is your name really Daniel Dickerson?

Ja, Movie Maker. Wish I could set the aspect ratio though.

I used Windows Media Player to view the file ...
And of course that would be the last thing I'd run it in, because I despise Windows Media Player :p

Well I despise versions 9 and 11, I will only use version 10.
