I'ts no secret.. all these ships were in the works when my HDD kicked the bucket.
I figure when I'm re-doin one, I might do the others too..

I don't feel comfortable showing the HTL Typhon yet and I still havn't started on the hybrid..

Can you share your ideas on how to approach the Typhon?  It's one of the iconic Freespace ships, but the original has a suck model and suck texturing.

I'm 99% done with the Demon.. just a few more tweaks and it's done (currently, unoptimized 6800 polys )


Anyone want to try and texture the thing?

I dont like the changes to the typhon so far. Looks more like you made it fat, than anything else...

You sure you can manage?

I put it up for download, a truespace scene - ship is made of several parts (and some are split in half).

So that menas:

half a head
half the upper body with two lower spikes
half the rear part (the arch-thing and 3rd spike)
underbelly
main turret pedistals
tubes and base for beam cannons on head
spine thingy
top engine "stripes"

Yikes. Uh, Trashman, I can see where you combined the two halves of the body in the bottom pic. (Actually, it's pretty obvious in the top shot pic too. )

I havn't merged it yet. Made only half of it and then mirrored it for  rendering presentation purposes.

figure whoever wants to texture it will have it easier if he has to o only half of it...
