anywho, i lost count of how many times people say d3d doesent work for this kind of thing. if you want to run cutscenes in d3d, then get the .mve versions.

It's worth pointing out that this could easily be due to him having the .avi versions of the cutscenes.

ShivanSPS's torrent for instance is going to be the source of people visiting us with outdated movies for quite a while. Still it's better than them not getting FS2_Open at all

Yep. So that won't cause as many problems but torrents don't get taken down and replaced the second they become obsolete.

Anyone getting Shivan's torrent likely found it somewhere other than HLP so I doubt it would do much good to be honest.

3.6.10 will support trackers, right?  On PXO? or what was it called, I forgot... anyways, will it be sort of like Halo, where it connects to a master Gamespy server, and anyone hosting a game, as well as dedicated servers, are shown?  BTW, will 3.6.10 support dedicated servers?  Do you feel like reaching for the duct tape yet?

Actually 3.6.9 supports both of those right now. It's just that 3.6.10 will do a better job of it.

So how come more people don't play?  There's no master server willing to host?

More people don't play because they go online and there is no one playing. So they decide multiplayer is dead and don't play.

Considering that several people register on FS2NetD every week that's pretty stupid really.

FS2NetD is the master server, similar to gamespy for Halo, correct?

Yep. FS2NetD provides a game tracking service similar to that but it also supplies a stat tracking service allowing pilots to keep track of the number of kills they have made etc.

I registered, then sorted by "Last Flight"... pages 18-68 are all pilots who have never flown.

Some of them have never flown. However, if you look you'll probably see me down as one of them. I'm registered as never flown because BtRL has no validated missions or tables so no matter how many times I play I won't be appearing.

I suspect that the fact that we haven't validated the 3.6.9 tables (since we don't have them yet) is responsible for a fair number of those never flowns.

Sounds about right. I flew with someone for about 30 seconds once to see if things were working.
