Anyone playing this? I thin kits one of hte best Tolkien adaptations I have ever come across, movie, bbc audio, games, etc. They really captured the feel of the books IMHO.

I am on the US server Elendilmir as "Arrack" if anyone wants to look me up.

Looked a couple pages down the topics list and didn't see one for this.

LOTRO =  :doubt:  Its just another MMORPG (obviously) there are much better out there, the only thing i see with this is that you can be an animal. (according to latest PCgamer.

It is similar to WOW in many respects - a lot of solutions regarding interface and some mechanics have been taken from there, but IMHO it's better than WOW...a LOT.

The world is rich and detailed, and  I especially like the special quests - the ones that feel like you're playing a normal RPG in snigelplayer or watching a moive...masterfully done.

My 2 big gripes with it (and 99% of all MMORGPS suffer from this):
1. level and item scaling sucks big time, as well as the mechanics behind them (same as WOW and practicly everything else out there)
2. You still spend countless hours farming for what ends up a useless item...

It's Tolkien.

And its very faithfully so. I could care less about the WoW similarities. They do an excellent job of story telling without trampling on the original material.
