I'm very sorry for posting an issue that you have all probably seen many many times, but I really didn't want to hijack someone else's thread so please forgive me
So I installed FSO today and was about to kick some NTF ass when the game crashed after playing the Intro cutscene. It kept saying Freespace2 encountered a problem and must close, and I never made it past that. After fumbling around a bit I found it had to do with using OpenGL, after I switched to D3D the game worked fine but cutscenes won't play anymore. I know D3D support will be discontinued in future version so I really want to get this problem fixed.
I'm using an on-board ATi Radeon Xpress 200M graphics card, and I have the latest drivers installed (Catalyst 7.10, released on Oct 15). Here's my error log if it helps with anything:
