Spacebar doesnt work.

Spacebar just fires a normal shot. (my primary weapon is spacebar, secondary weapon (missles) is ctrl).

Also, using alt x or was it ctrl z or something like that (either alt/ctrl, a,z,x,s keys) slows down the enemy?

However even when it displays 0.4 (mission speed x, below time passed) i still cant hit.

My firing reticle is hovering over the place it should be (the indicator where im supposed to shoot for maximum effectiveness) half the time, and yet I cant kill them fast enough.

Seems my hitratio of 45% (in the campaign) isnt good enough

:wtf: Primary weapon means the "laser" weapon. Secondary means the missiles.

What resolution are you using when playing? Standard builds have problems with resolutions that differ from the 4:3 aspect ratio. 1024x768 works fine, but for example any widescreen resolutions cause some funky graphical glitches.

If you're mapped the space and CTRL the other way round try pressing CTRL instead. :)

It's a campaing for The Babylon Project not for Freespace.  You need to install TBP in order to use it.   
No-one ever listens to Zathras. Quite mad, they say. It is good that Zathras does not mind. He's even grown to like it. Oh yes. -Zathras

Hello.
I've downloaded what I believe is the newest version of Dark Children (the date of .vp is 2008-07-08 03:13). I have beaten the 4-th mission, have seen the command briefing for the fifth, then the game crashed :eek2:
I switched to the debug build, errors attached (looks like some model is wrong). Then I tried again the non-debug build and the mission starts, no problem :confused:

As for the comments, I don't know the B5 universe :nervous: so I was wondering what happens next, until the end.

Will I defect to humans? Will the viewpoint change after a few missions to the humans?
But really, there's little to say, since no story = no thinking -> no comments. But as a mini-campaign, it's fine.

If yes, try using the INF build of the game.

It did crash 2 times using fs2_open_3_6_9_INF. Then I switched to fs2_open_3_6_9_INF_debug, that crashes always. But then I switched back to fs2_open_3_6_9_INF and the mission started as if there was no problem before.
So, the non-debug build works now, the debug build stops on the assertion. I just thought you'd want to know it, if other people are using your ship models.

Love this campaign it was hart to beat the Minbari but this was REALLY fun  a great littel Capaign. I felt like a shadow;)

Vidmaster, great respect to you for that excellent mini-comp.
I really love it. Thou i didn't get about FEATURE at first, instead I've just completed missions without using it :) It takes a LOT of practice  :D about 20-30 tries for the last missions  :eek2:
Then I read this thread and figured it all out :nervous: Using FEATURE it was really easy and funny to play.
I'm anxiously waiting for continue. I'm dying to swim and dive again :yes:

By the way a have some complains about shadow vessels. I thought battle crabs had the agility and speed superior even to the White Stars, so why they are almost immovable in this campaign? It is about spitfires to, they have gravimetric engine and should have the equal acceleration in any direction so as vorlon fighter. It means that they should move sidewards with the same speed as forward  and backward, not crawl like starfury.
I understand that this will change the balance and make shadow fighter almost impossible to hit, but they are SHADOWS, not some pathetic younger races like humans, they must be superior.

Simple answer is that when those ships where made and balanced glide didn't exist yet.  Attempting to add it now would throw off balance for all existing missions.  So until I figure out a way around the issue only EA has glide capable fighters.

I love the FEATURE!!! The campaign is also very interesting seeing things from this perspective. You have already stated the lack of ballance, so anything regarding that wouldn't be very useful. Not being able to control the ship in hyperspace can be a bit annoying but is also understandable. I'd love to see a continuation of this campaign as well as the FEATURE used in other camplains. A Starfury or Narn pilot able to concentrate like this would be amazing.

That's what I've came up with - I really don't think that shadow capships are so intelligent. In my opinion they are more likely computers, very perfect though. It is doubtful that they can experience that kind of emotions, shown in that campaign.
In series telepaths scaned shadow battleships and didn't feel any thouts or emotions. IMHO.

The failure to sense emotion or thought is likely because the shadows are so different they can't read them properly. Lyda (sp) did scan a carb and felt how they killed Kosh from doing so. In the end of the war it was very clear the Shadows had emotion and their tactics showed intelegence.

They certainly are intelligent enough to feel pain and react accordingly. Just watch the episode "The long twilight struggle".
And while they are not completely canon, the Technomage Trillogy books give a very nice account of how it is to be a shadow ship.
"Keeping the neurons firing in harmony, beating out a flawless march in the complex multileveld system, being a great engine of chaos and destruction, the exhilerating leap into hyperspace. The red extasy of the war cry, when they scream out a cacophony of evolution through bloodshed" to give you some semi-quotes out of my head.

And the series never mentiones what the telepath feel, when they mentally grapple with a shadowship. Besides considering the strain it puts on a telepath to block a battlecrab, I doubt they can spare the concentration to try to feel their emotions and thoughts.
