Re: Which sports do you play?
Personally, I voted Soccer (but I know it as football   :P ), cycling and swimming.

If the options were available, I would also have chosen, bowling (ten pin, not crown green), pool and snooker.

And if I had the money, time and experience some form of motor sport would be on there, (I'd love to be a Formula one driver, but I don't even have a drivers licence).

Re: Which sports do you play?
What is this "sports" you're talking about? Oh wait. I vaguely remember swimming back in the days (2005 or something). After that... well, I do sometimes walk over to the store. And cycle to the uni, if the temperature > 5 oC and there's no snow. That's about it. I'm lazy. Too lazy.

Re: Which sports do you play?
Where'd my original reply go?? :wtf:

Anyway........

I actively run and cycle, Albeit in a gym........I played quite a bit of soccer football and rugby in school / sixth form, rugby in the army. But now i'm in a low activity/healing state. I need to get back into it progressively..

Although the running and cycling are not sports as i don't compete (as mentioned earlier) and Army PT is not a sport its a unified movement of a like-minded body of men(even if youre female) towards the end result of fulfilling the intstructors goals.

DAMN i love PT motivational speeches :D
Campaigns I've added my distinctiveness to-

-Blue planet: Age of Aquarius
-FOTG?
-Inferno R1
-Ribos: The aftermath / -Retreat from Deneb
-Sol: A History
-TBP EACW teaser
-Earth Brakiri war
-TBP Fortune Hunters (I think?)
-TBP Relic
-Trancsend (Possibly?)
-Uncharted Territory
-Vassagos Dirge
-War Machine
(Others lost to the mists of time and no discernible audit trail)

Aikido and archery...

Cycling too, but not as a sport or exercise form but rather a way to move from A to B in the summer when the weather is fine and it's faster on short to medium distances than public transportation. The exercise value is an added bonus.
There are three things that last forever: Abort, Retry, Fail - and the greatest of these is Fail.

No way. They're totally different -- Rian does (did) gymnastics, I do martial arts, and we can both attest they're pretty wildly disparate.

They are quite different, but a gym routine is quite similar to a karate kata.

Re: Which sports do you play?
Right, but not all martial arts have katas.

I do krav maga, which is a hard Israeli military style focused on practical hand-to-hand techniques and fighting bigger, stronger people. A lot of groin blows, bites, and elbow shots; no ki, katas, or mysticism.

That said, I have a good appreciation for the value of karate -- it's just a different approach. I'd never want to get in a fight no matter what style I trained in, and karate's clearly valuable for many other reasons.

Re: Which sports do you play?
The karate I do (Shotokai) does not have any of the "fancy stuff". It focuses on actual fighting as well.

Re: Which sports do you play?
I personally play paintball, football, practice wing chun kung fu, and have just gotten into  krav-maga  :D

Martial arts: specifically Gumdo (Korean form of combat with katana), and some Escrima (Filipino martial art with swords/sticks)  I also do some running/cycling/swimming on occasion, not for sport but more for recreation/exercise. :)

The only thing worse than an argument on the Internet is an argument about the superiority of one style over another! I would hate to start that. A full measure of respect for your style, and since I've never practiced it, I certainly can't judge it.

Out of curiosity, are you familiar with krav? I'd like to know more about your style.

 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shotokai Is that it?
