Just dozed off at my PC and had a freaky dream where I was getting chased by Remilia Scarlet, Chistopher Walken, the red head chick from Patlabor, and the koolaid jug. And through all of it, all I kept on thinking was; "Must protect the tea."

I think I'm going to lay off the sugary snacks at night and go to bed now, as that was the most abstract dream I've had for a while.

If you think that's bad, then I imagine you probably wouldn't want to have the dream I did about a packet of sugar. Apparently, some guys figured out how to a small nuclear bomb from syrup fructose. The packet of sugar was apparently considered a dangerous criminal in many countries, but he had to stop the syrup fructose nuclear bomb plot.

And in the end, it didn't really matter, because for some reason, everyone went and nuked each other anyway despite the nuclear fructose plot being foiled. Maybe they really hate sugar. I don't know.

Just upgraded my RAM from 2 to 4GB, though using XP I don't get to enjoy it's full use... Not that I had an alternative since it came in a 2x2GB stick kit and I only had 2 Slots on my MB :doubt:
 
I think I might have found a portal to Dustland in there... I should get an air pump and perform a full cleanup, just wiping it won't be enough.

Edit: I have finally been able to play Chivalry without the crashes I had before! Yes... YES!

with the help of a a tech forum thread google found from 2007, successfully fixed the blank screen with flashing cursor on my laptop that happened to the main drive RIGHT after i wiped the old one to try a clean install of XP.

now someone who knows a bit about HDDs set me straight here; if checkdisk is finding bad sectors and recovering them (unsuccessfully it seems), shouldn't that be setting off the SMART warnings for the drive?  cuz mine still reads health, at least by seagate's own program.  i don't know how to check it just in windows.

I've heard a few mutterings that SMART is fairly useless for certain types of hardware errors, though I don't know how true that is.

Currently posting via Steam while I experiment with the Steam browser.  It's... not so great.  Resolution issues, responsiveness issues, and just not as intuitive as it should be.

EDIT: fixed the resolution issues, at least.  Responsiveness still awkward, to say the least.  As soon as I find out how to open more than one tab, it might almost be functional.
